Deepcar St John’s Junior School

This year the ICT Team launched an event to encourage young people to get involved in film. As a school we were entered into the competition to see if we could win one of the prizes that were on offer. :0)

The Steel City Globe Awards were presented to the nominees at a ceremony on Thursday 6th July 2006. Out of the 4 films that we entered into the competition 2 were nominated to be in the finals …… and ….. we won our category!!!!!

The winning film was ‘Safety in School with Reg’ made by the y5 media groups and Mr Wayland. Congratulations to them and everyone who was entered. Thank you to Mr Wayland and all the media groups in school who have done lots of hard work to make a huge variety of different films over the year.

Our trophy is on display in the reception area and the Digital Blue Cameras that were given to the school as a winning prize will be used next year to make more films, that we can hopefully enter in next year’s competition. :0)
